In my opinion, shoes tie an outfit together. They’re equally important as everything else you put on your body. Wearing the wrong shoes can ruin your whole appearance and make you feel very uncomfortable.
Today, I will talk about Vans and Converse. They’re two of the most popular footwear brands. However, which one is better? Which one is worth buying? Is Vans comfier than Converse? Is Converse cheaper?
I’m a huge Converse fan. They remind me of Curt Cobain. He’s one of my favorite singers. But I can’t deny that Vans can be comfier than Converse. However, Converse shoes aren’t for everybody but let’s not make judgments right away. They can adapt to your foot, unlike Vans shoes. However, Vans give extra support.
Below, I will compare both Vans vs Converse in detail. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the brands and learn more about their history, quality, price, etc. And determine which one is made for you.

Are Vans Better Than Converse?
Almost every young person owns a pair of Bans. They’ve gotten pretty popular. However, they can never beat Converse. This is a legendary brand that’s more popular.
In my opinion, owning a pair of both brands is okay. They both have their advantages and disadvantages but I’m more into Converse. Let’s take a closer look at both brands.
Converse
Converse started as a rubber shoe company specializing in galoshes back in 1908. In 1920, the popular ‘All-Star’ shoe has been designed, a one-of-a-kind sneaker that has been the same for over 100 years.
The design of Converse shoes with a fabric upper available as either a low-top or high-top and a white rubber sole is unique. Uppers come in different designs and colors with the possibility of customizing your footwear for a fully-original look.
Converse make the perfect everyday shoewear. They work perfectly with rolled up or skinny jeans. I’m into this outfit. I can say that it’s my go-to outfit every time I’m too tired or too lazy to get dressed for a night out but I still want to look fashionable.
The only disadvantage of Converse shoes is that they have a narrow appearance. If you want more room in your shoes, they might not be the perfect fit for you.
Vans
Vans has been on the market for over 50 decades. It was established in Anaheim, California back in 1966 and became quite popular over the years.
The Vans brand originally advertised their footwear as skateboarding trainers because of their easy slip on and off capability. Today, they’re still well-known in the skateboarding world.
However, they’re also popular outside the skateboarding world. Vans make a great fit for both modern men and women. Individuals who don’t skateboard can wear these shoes as well.
Much like Converse, these shoes have a rubber sole with a fabric surface present in different styles and designs. Recently, Vans started making shoes with laces. The reason why is because most of their shoes keep on carrying the slip-on style. It’s one of the key advantages of Vans.
They’re super easy to use, unlike Converse. Converse shoes feature laces. Do they have laceless models? If they do and you have a pair of those shoes, share a picture in the comments!
When determining what to wear with Vans shoes, your possibilities are endless. Vans look great in the summer with a shirt or pair of shorts. However, they can also be worn with jeans.
Overall, both brands provide different benefits. And they both have disadvantages. It depends on personal preferences, taste in fashion, and budget which brand you choose.
Do Vans Last Longer Than Converse?
I have my Converse for years. I would say that they’re pretty durable and long-lasting. However, people claim that Vans last longer.
Vans last longer because most of their models are created for skateboarding which needs reliable and sturdy shoes. They’re also comfortable.
One of the downsides of Converse is that most models let water seep in. Vans, on the other hand, don’t have this problem.
Which is Cheaper Vans or Converse?
It depends on the model you select. They’re similarly priced. The Converse sizes are smaller than the real street shoe you wear. And they have a higher price tag than Vans.
What’s Comfier Vans or Converse?
I prefer Converse over Vans. Vans might be more comfortable because of the additional support. They provide greater comfort than Converse.
However, as I already said, Converse isn’t for everyone. In my case, my foot adapted to Converse and I’m feeling great wearing them every day. They’re super-versatile.
Vans tend to last longer because most Vans models are created for skateboarding. However, it depends on how well you take care of your shoes.

What Cooler Vans or Converse?
It depends. Some people consider Converse as cooler while others swear by Vans.
Not everyone can wear Converse. However, not everyone finds Vans cool either. It depends on taste and personal preferences which brand you choose. They’re both durable and versatile.
Do Vans or Converse Have More Support?
Vans are stylish but also comfortable for walking. They’re good for everyday wear. However, Converse is also comfortable for everyday wear for some people, including me.
The rubber sole in Vans provides a good grip. It doesn’t slip easily on wet or slick surfaces. Vans provide greater support but I’m able to walk in Converse all day without a problem.
At the end of the day, there’s certainly pressure on the bottom and sometimes the top of my feet. You won’t experience this with Vans so if you want extra support, opt for Vans.
Are Converse and Vans the Same Brand?
Absolutely, not. They’re two different brands coexisting in the market.
Converse footwear has been present in the market for over a century. They were known for utilizing the rubber they designed for their galoshes and started making sneakers.
Their sneakers became popular as the ‘All-Star’ and widely used by different people for every purpose. The All-Star sneakers have two main styles, the low-top, and high-top.
The low-top model is cute and perfect for going from class to class or running errands while the high-top works with every outfit possible. However, their laces can get annoying.
Converse has only one disadvantage. These shoes tend to make your feet appear narrow. Also, it takes a while for Converse to adjust to your feet. Other than that, they’re perfect.
Vans, on the other hand, haven’t been present as long as Converse but they’ve been producing sneakers for over 50 years. Vans were the go-to footwear for skaters.
Towards the end of the 70s, the Old-Skool, the Era, and Classic Slip-ones became popular in Southern California. These models were designed for and glorified by BMX riders and skaters for their comfort and durability. The Classic Slip-ones was my favorite style of Vans.
They provide greater comfort and durability. And they appear great for either going to the grocery store or going out at night with your partner, family or friends.
The only disadvantage of Vans is that if you purchase a model with a thin sole and wear them for a long time, they can get worn and get holes at the toes.
However, this would occur to most footwear after a lot of wear.
Final Words
When trying to determine which of the footwear is better, it comes down to taste and preference. If you want a user-friendly, casual trainer, opt for Vans.
However, if you want a more iconic look, Converse is the right brand for you. They’re not as comfortable and durable as Vans but they’re more widely recognized.
Nonetheless, you can’t go wrong with either of these companies. They’re both practical, super-versatile, and stylish. I love Converse. What’s your choice?
