I currently have a bob and this will be the third time to grow it out. And trust me, no one can understand the battle you’re going through better than me. Inverted bob is cute. And it’s quite the trend. However, when it comes to growing it out, it can be a pain in the a**.

That’s why I decided to write this short article on how to grow out a bob fast. Stick with me because I will explain the stages of growing and share tips and tricks on how to speed up the process. My hair is a mess at the moment and I can’t wait to style it, so let’s begin.

Steps on How to Grow out a Bob

If you want to grow out your bob faster, just follow these steps and you’ll have your hair back. However, it won’t happen overnight. Meaning, you’ll have to invest time and attention.

Step 1: Always have an end goal I mind. As you grow out your bob, imagine how do you want your hair to look like in the future. And most important of all, keep your stylist updated on the type of look you’re aiming to achieve.

This way, your bob will easily transition into your new hairstyle. While talking to your hairstylist, ask him or her to thin the ends. It will help your hair grow faster and healthier. And most importantly, you won’t look like a mushroom.

Step 2: Curl your hair to add texture. When the front of your bob reaches the shoulders, it will look crazy because the ends will flip out. However, curling random strands will make sure that your hairstyle doesn’t appear outdated.

So, add texturizing spray and curl. Also, you can use accessories to make it look better and balance it while it grows. Just add some pretty bobby pins for balance or a simple headband to keep the hair away from your face.

Step 3: If your hair is beyond saving, don’t manage it. Instead, add some texturizing spray after washing it. Let it air dry and create a bedhead look with your hands. This might help you overcome the awkward period of growing out your bob. You can also braid your hair. It is a nice way to add balance to your hair while growing it out.

Add small braids for texture, break up the weight and keep the hair away from your face. If you want to take it to the next level, change your hair color. It will take off the focus of your growing bob. Try highlights, lowlights or pick a crazy color like green, blue or pink. It will not only take off the focus of your bob but add life to it and make it look healthier.

However, I don’t recommend that you do this alone. Visit a hairstylist. Otherwise, you can damage your hair or slow down the growth, which will be the opposite of what you wanted.

Step 4: Another great way to take off the focus of your bob and add life to your hair is adding bangs or layers. However, I suggest that you do this when your hair reaches your shoulders. It will help your hair look fresh and clean. However, they’re not for everyone. Consult your hairstylist before making any changes and ask if they will look good on you.

Step 5: In order to make sure that your hair is growing faster, you have to pay attention to it. Meaning, you will have to take good care of it. For example, I suggest that you wash and condition your hair every day.

Washing will speed up the process while conditioning will make sure that your hair is healthy and strong. Even if you don’t like the idea of washing it every day, at least condition it. Dampen your hair and apply a dime-size amount of product.

Let it sit for 2 minutes before you rinse it out. If you do wash your hair every day, make sure that the shampoo you’re using is made with natural ingredients. Look for sulfate-free shampoo. Otherwise, the chemicals in the regular shampoo will destroy your scalp and hair.

Step 6: Use a mask at least once a week. Although I don’t follow this step, I suggest that you do, if you want to grow out your bob faster. It will act add extra strength to your hair. Hair masks are thicker than conditioners. And you should apply it as a regular conditioner. However, instead of 2 minutes, it should stay at least 5 minutes before you wash it all off.

Step 7: If your hair is very thin, you should apply a regular conditioner only. Otherwise, using a hair mask might damage your hair since the ingredients which add strength might weaken it even more.

Add a scalp revitalizer to speed up the growing process instead. It’s usually made of plant extracts, vitamins, and minerals that will stimulate your hair follicles. And stimulated follicles will speed up the growth. You can find it in most beauty markets.

Step 8: In order to prevent damage and breakage in your bob, use a wide tooth comb. It will make sure that your hair doesn’t break and grows faster. Also, the most common step to growing your hair a lot faster is trimming. Get your hair trimmed every second month. It will not only freshen up your hair but also make it look healthy and give it a new shape.
