Whenever we have experience with flaking, we assume that it is dandruff or that we simply have problems with dry skin. But there is a difference between dandruff and yellow build up. The main difference is the cause of the formatting of these two scalp conditions. Dandruff  is caused by overproducing of sebum, and sometimes it really may have a yellowish color.

1.Apple cider vinegar

We all know that Apple cider vinegar is so useful for losing weight, lower blood sugar, treating acne, but it can also do a miracle on your scalp build-up. It is a cheap way to get rid of those nasty chunks of skin, and all you need is, half cup of water and a half cup of ACV. And voila! After you have finished your regular hair rutin, massage a mixture of these two ingredients into your scalp and leave it there for about 5 minutes. After that rinse it of with cold water.

2.Scalp Scrub

Whether is it face or scalp, we need to exfoliate away all the dead skin and cells, that makes us feel less attractive. There are tons of ways and variations that we can make our own scrub. Play with ingredients from your kitchen and make awesome scrubs for your body and scalp without fear that you will be exposed to nasty chemicals, that you can find in all those expensive scrubs. So without furder a due, here are few extra scalp scrubs that you can make on your own.

For making our homemade scalp scrub we’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
  • Half a cup of sea salt.
  • Lemon juice ( half of a lemon ).

Massage it into your scalp area. Make sure you get every part of your scalp area and live it to sit there for about 30 minutes. After half an hour, wash it off with your regular shampoo and warm water.

Scalp scrub with cornmeal

You will need:

  • Clarifying shampoo.
  • Cornmeal or crushed almonds.
  • Any essential oil you like.

Mix half of small cup of clarifying shampoo with 1 spoon of cornmeal or crushed almonds and add few drops of essential oil. Massage it gently into your scalp and wash away with warm water. You can use this treatment once a week.

Scrub with brown sugar

You will need:

  • 1 spoon of organic brown sugar.
  • Half a small cup of olive oil.
  • Half a cup of your favorite conditioner.

Combine ingredients, and massage your scrub with fingertips into your scalp and hair.

Shampoos and products that you use in your daily hair care routine can be full of parabens and sulfates which can be pretty harmful to your skin and scalp. Nowadays, more and more people switch their expensive shampoos with more natural ones. You can even make your own with using just things you can find in your refrigerator. Like eggs, coconut oil, olive oil, lemon etc. Make sure products you use are organic.

  • Coconut milk (The best would be if you could make your own homemade coconut milk, but you can use the one from the store as well)
  • Liquid soap
  • Essential oil (you can use whichever you like the best)
  • Distill water
  • Old shampoo bottle (empty)

Ingredient you will need:

  • Half a cup of coconut milk.
  • Half a cup of liquid soap.
  • 25 drops of any essential oil that you have chosen.

( If you have dry scalp use one tablespoon of olive oil or almond oil )

  • Now, that we have everything we need, let’s make our natural, homemade, chemical free shampoo.
  • Mix all your ingredients in an old bottle of shampoo or jar or any container with a pump.
  • Add half of a cup of distilled water.
  • Shake well.
  • You can use it for about a month.
  • Shake every time before you use it.
  • Use hand full of your homemade shampoo each time you wash your hair.

Extra tip: If your hair loss that natural shine, use 50:50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and water and rinse it with it.
